RideConnect account
Delete your RideConnect account
This page explains how to delete your RideConnect account and what happens to your data. Deleting an account can't be undone.
In the app
- Open RideConnect and go to Profile.
- Open Preferences and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. If you haven't signed in recently, the app asks you to sign in again first. Nothing is deleted until that succeeds.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app or the phone, email help@rideconnect.live with the subject "Delete my RideConnect account" and the phone number you signed up with. We'll reply to confirm it's your account, then delete it and tell you when it's done.
What is deleted
- Your account, so you can no longer sign in with it.
- Your profile, username, display name, photos, vehicle details and health card.
- Your ride history, including recorded routes.
- Your safety record, including crash and emergency records.
- Your rider entry in every ride you had joined, including your last known position.
- Your live location link, if you're sharing one, and your entries on the website's Track a rider page for the rides you're still in.
- All of the above on your phone, as well as in your account.
What is kept
- Ride chat messages. Messages you sent stay in the ride they were sent to, with your name, because a ride's chat is a shared record that the other riders can read. Email us if you need messages removed.
- Rides you created that others are still in. They're handed over to another rider, so the group doesn't lose the ride. If you're the only one left in a ride, it's deleted.
For the full details, including how long each kind of data is kept, read section 3.3 and section 5.1 of our privacy policy.
